Eagle Scout Project Refreshes Roger Barkley Community Center Office
(La Canada Valley Sun, August, 2002)

Recently scouts from Troop 507 along with helpful parents cleaned and painted the interior of the main office at the Roger Barkley Community Center as phase one of an Eagle project organized by Life Scout Eric Larin. Phase two will include building and installing a storage cabinet, wall board and mail slots in the community center.

"I would like to recognize Chris Behr and Behr Construction Company for their generous contribution in funding the majority of the project," Larin said. "Also, many thanks go out to Dominick's Italian Restaurant in La Crescenta for sponsoring a fund-raising evening."

Mentors for the project included RBCC board members Richard Myers and Tom Reynolds as well as Neil Weightman, who, along with Reynolds, is a former Troop 507 Scoutmaster.

Aaron Solomon, RBCC executive director, expressed his appreciation for the work accomplished by Larin and the scouts of Troop 507. "The newly cleaned and painted office has enhanced the day-to-day work environment for our staff and we look forward to the completion of the rest of the project," Solomon said.
